large. Our members resides all over the world. This
organization is divided into Regions:

- Western Europe

- United States,
Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean
How does the
Ebira Vonya International come into it’s virtual existence?
Many well-meaning indigenes of Ebiraland harbor an essential
moral imperative, the desire of contributing in one way or the
other towards the development of the community. This
communitarian instinct has been aided in no small measure by
the gains of the Information Technology, the realities of
daily life at home and the news of the construction and
donation of 35 boreholes across the various local government
areas in Ebiraland by Mr. Ahmed Ogembe. The Ebira Vonya
International was formed, with remarkable aplomb, in March
2004.
The euphoria that greeted the formation of EVI was never
misplaced. Even though our ethnicity has produced a good
number of children who are privileged to have been to abroad,
away from our homeland to study, work and witness the
development there, this has unfortunately never translated
into any positive changes of the realities on the ground. That
is why the formation of EVI generated such a huge sense of
history in the making, a sense of the arrival of a new
generation and a kind of rebellion. The present generation of
Ebira elite are ready and willing to challenge the status quo
that has confined our people, with rich and proud history, to
a subservient status, individual and collective vendetta.
Our own model of communitarians based on local, grass root and
regional effort of coming together to share our experiences,
understand our common problems, be our brother’s keeper and to
evolve common strategy of dealing with the problem that
confront us as a people has a lot that commends it to the
outside world. The Ebira Vonya International is adopting this
model as a matter of principle to promote the spirit of
healthy competition capable of producing dividends to our
beloved Motherland. The survival and the efficacy of the
organization, we fervently believe, would be dependent on the
regional structures.
The driving force behind EVI is the shared vision by the
members and the innate desires of the sons and daughters of
Ebira to make a difference in the lives of the Ebiras. The
members have realized that harnessing the potentials resident in
the individual members will form a formidable force for a
positive change. So, "Ave Di Ya Vu Vo Be". |
