SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In 2008 EVI will introduce scholarship program for students pursuing University education in Nigeria. This program will be an on-going yearly program geared toward promoting academic excellence amongst Ebira youths. 

The Award
Scholarship will be provided every year. It will be a one-time assistance to Ebira students starting university education in Nigeria.

Who is Qualified?
Students (one male and one female) with excellent academic standing, who are pursing further education in one of the Universities in Nigeria.

Selection Criteria

  • Good WAEC Results Record of last three years of academic achievements.
  • Record of good conduct.
  • Essay on “Impact of ethnic Divides on the lives of Ebira People”.

How to Apply?

  • Write your essay using Microsoft Word application (please see Essay guideline below).
  • Email your essay as an attachment to scholarship@ebiravonyainternational.org.
  • In the body of the email, state why you should be considered for the scholarship award and at the end of your email, write your
  • full name, your birthday and your gender.
  • Any application that does not comply with the stated guidelines will not be considered for the scholarship award.

Application Deadline
Applications must be received not later than March 30, 2008.

Essay Guidelines

  • Use standard Letter Paper (8.5 x 11) with Portrait Layout.
  • The Pages must conform to the following margins: Top - 1 inch, Bottom - 1 inch, Left - 1.25 inch and Right - 1 inch.
  • Use 1.5 line spacing throughout the pages of the essay.
  • Select Time News Roman of Size 11 for the body of the Essay. The title of the Essay ("Impact of ethnic Divides on the lives of Ebira People")should be bold, capitalized, centered on the page with a font size of 14.
  • There must be one paragraph between the main title and the body of the essay.
  • Start your essay with an introduction describing your understanding of the topic.
  • Each sub-title must be bold and italicized with a font size of 12.
  • Your essay must not be more than 4 pages long.
  • Indicate the following on the header of each page of your essay: Your full name (Surname, first name middle name), Name of school and your class, Email Address, Phone Number (if any) and Mailing Address.
  • Your essay must be paginated with the page number on the footer of each page.
